If you would open your Bible to Leviticus chapter 18, you will see all that God abhors and calls sin. All these sins are covered in the Ten Commandments. Don't let the world fool you! By the world, I mean Satan! God loves us, but he is a righteous God and cannot look upon sin; therefore He must judge us and condemn us in our sin.
You see, there is a great chasm or impassable space between us and Heaven. There is no way for us to cross over on our own power- No matter what we do or how "good" we are or think we are. This is why Jesus was born, so that He could build a "Salvation" bridge that would allow us access to Heaven and Him. That bridge is the cross that he died on and it was opened to us by His resurrection from the dead.
For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but in order that the world might be saved through him.(John 3:17)
Whoever believes in him is not condemned, but whoever does not believe is condemned already, because he has not believed in the name of the only Son of God.
(John 3:18)
And this is the judgment: the light has come into the world, and people loved the darkness rather than the light because their works were evil.
(John 3:19)
For everyone who does wicked things hates the light and does not come to the light, lest his works should be exposed.
(John 3:20)
But whoever does what is true comes to the light, so that it may be clearly seen that his works have been carried out in God."
(John 3:21)
After this Jesus and his disciples went into the Judean countryside, and he remained there with them and was baptizing.
(John 3:22)
John 3:22 is the key. We cannot just cross the bridge that Jesus built for us without sacrifice.
We must be made new and the only way to do that is to sincerely(from the heart and mind) accept Jesus as our savior and ask Him to come into our heart.
Then we must repent of our sins. Repent means being sincere and stopping whatever we are doing that is sinful in the eyes of God.
Thirdly, we must be baptized in the name of the Father, Son and Holy Ghost who are one yet are separate. When we are baptized, we are totally immersed (burying the old self ) and when we come up out of the water, we are raised a new creation that is "white as snow" allowing the the gift of the Holy Spirit to enter us and guide us in our new life.
Please, realize that God loves you and wants you in Heaven with Him for eternity. Hell is eternal, also, and right now you still have the choice of where you want to spend that eternity when your mortal body dies. Don't allow Satan to fool you, Hell is real! Don't wait any longer to make this decision, because we know not the day nor the hour when we will leave this world.
Find a Bible teaching church and become a member of the body and socialize as much as possible with them. Also, read your Bible and have quiet time with the Lord as much as possible-Every day if you can. Make time for God-He made time for you!
Just a little note:
Baptism does not save you, but is an important part of being saved! In John 3:22 take note that Jesus was baptizing people and He was baptized by John the Baptist at the start of His ministry.
May you allow all of God's wonderful blessings into your life, so that you have His peace and joy!
